2026 Curriculum

VET - Pathways Program

At Mount Barker High School, we are proud to offer a range of flexible learning options that support students in completing Vocational Education and Training (VET) competencies and qualifications. These programs are designed to help students gain practical skills and industry experience while working towards their SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education).

On-Site VET Opportunities

Our school is equipped with specialist facilities that allow students to undertake a variety of VET courses right here on campus. These include:

  • Electrotechnology
  • Plumbing
  • Automotive Servicing

These hands-on courses provide students with valuable skills and knowledge that can lead directly to employment or further study.

Adelaide Hills Student Pathways Partnership

As a member of the Adelaide Hills Student Pathways (AHSPS) network, our students have access to an even broader selection of VET and Industry Pathways Programs (IPP). Through this partnership, students can attend courses at the Adelaide Hills Trade Training Centre, which offers state-of-the-art facilities and expert instruction across a wide range of industries.

This collaboration ensures that students can pursue their interests and career goals with the support of both our school and the wider Adelaide Hills education community.

Other VET School Clusters

While the majority of vocational education and training (VET) opportunities are offered through the Adelaide Hills Student Pathways (AHSPs) alliance, students may also access courses delivered by external training providers outside of the alliance. These courses may be located in other regions and can provide specialised training in areas not currently available within the AHSP's framework. Additional considerations such as travel, costs, and timetable flexibility should also be discussed with the school’s VET and Careers Pathway Coordinator.
