Curriculum Overview: Years 7 to 12
Mount Barker High School offers a comprehensive curriculum catering to all our students’ aspirations. From year 7, they are introduced to specific pathways designed to provide focused learning while enjoying appropriate flexibility to ensure choices are not restricted in the future.
Our senior students have access to a wide range of subjects within the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) framework. As a member of the Adelaide Hills Students Pathways (AHSPs network, we offer an extensive selection of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses, allowing students to gain practical skills and nationally recognised qualifications alongside their academic studies.
Enrichment and Co-Curricular Activities
Students at Mount Barker High School have opportunities to participate in a variety of enriching activities, including:
- Year 7 camp
- Primary school transition activities
- NAPLAN for year 7 and 9 students
- PAT Reading and Mathematics (Progressive Achievement Tests)
- Robotics Club
- Athletics carnival
- Interschool athletics carnival
- Knockout sporting competitions
- Student leadership (Student Representative Council and House Sports Captains)
- Writing, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography competitions
- Annual snow trip
- Instrumental Music Program
