Mount Barker High School provides safe and reliable transport options for students, including a Department for Education–coordinated school bus service for eligible families. Students can also access convenient public transport via regular Adelaide Metro routes and the Keoride on-demand service.

BUS SERVICES
Department for Education bus service
Mount Barker High School offers a bus service, coordinated by the Department for Education, for eligible students residing in the surrounding areas. This service ensures safe and reliable transport to and from school and is provided at no cost to families who meet the eligibility criteria.
Eligible students include those who:
- Live within the Mount Barker area
- Live more than 5km from their nearest government school
Mount Barker High School coordinates the school bus service at no cost to parents.
Families new to the Department for Education (DfE) bus service must follow these steps:
- Download the application for bus travel form.
- Complete the form and email to [email protected]
- Wait for confirmation via email. You will be notified if your application is approved and which bus your child has been assigned to.

Public transport
In addition to dedicated school bus services, many students travel to Mount Barker High School using public transport.
Regular Adelaide Metro bus routes provide convenient access to the school. For route details, timetables, and information about the Keoride on-demand service, available in Mount Barker, Nairne, and Littlehampton.
For local assistance, the SouthLink depot, located on Dutton Road in Mount Barker, is available Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and can be contacted on (08) 8339 7544.
