Learning Support

Mount Barker High School offers a variety of support strategies to help those students with learning difficulties. Contact the school on 8391 1599 if you require more information about how we can best support your child with their learning needs.

Lunchtime Help Desks

Staff in core learning areas of literacy and numeracy offer lunchtime help desks. Students can voluntarily attend when they feel the need for extra support in these areas. The staff facilitating these sessions are experts in their field and offer 1:1 or small group instruction to enable further understanding of concepts taught.

After School Catch Up

On Thursday, after school, the Resource Centre is open and supervised by a member of the school leadership team until 4.30pm for students to complete assignments.  Students may self-refer to these sessions or may be referred for extra support by subject teachers.  In the case of referral by subject teachers, the referring teacher will usually be available to provide 1:1 or small group support.
