Content

Students develop their improvisation, performance and analysis skills. The subject will be separated into two key areas:  

Making and Performing focuses on the development of devising and performing skills. Practical tasks may include:

  • Professional practice through engagement in a mock production company
  • Character development 
  • Rehearsing of established scripts  

Analysing and Responding focuses on developing the ability of students to reflect and analyse their own practice, as well as the practice of others. Analytical tasks may include:

  • Responding to students’ own work through a Writer’s Statement
  • Analysing a live stage performance or workshop through a review 

Assessment

Students are required to complete class and homework tasks that include both Making and Performing and Analysing and Responding.  

Students may be assessed in three areas:

  • Knowledge and immersion of professional practice
  • Performing
  • Responding   

Additional Information

Performance at public events is a requirement of this subject.
