Building resilience and wellbeing

Developing resilient minds for learning and life

Throughout term 4, students will be exploring the important theme of resilience during House Group sessions.

Resilience helps us manage challenges, cope with setbacks and maintain a positive mindset when things do not go as planned. Through a variety of activities, discussions and wellbeing strategies, students will learn practical ways to strengthen their emotional wellbeing and build confidence in dealing with everyday situations.

Students will be developing skills to:

  • Stay calm, focused and positive when facing challenges.
  • Recognise and understand the hidden beliefs and assumptions that can influence their reactions.
  • Identify what matters most when feeling overwhelmed or under pressure.
  • Use emotional regulation strategies to return to a calm and ready-to-learn state.
  • Participate respectfully in discussions by listening to others, sharing ideas and learning from different perspectives.
  • Practise the GEM principles of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness to support wellbeing and strengthen resilience.

By developing these skills, students will be better equipped to navigate challenges, build healthy relationships and maintain a positive approach to learning and life.

We look forward to supporting our students as they continue to grow their resilience and wellbeing throughout the term.
