Content

This course introduces students to Photography and Adobe Photoshop. They learn how to edit photographs and create communication products. The three areas of study are Camera Techniques, Digital Manipulation and the making of Communication Products. Each area of study complements the other in building upon skills and knowledge.

Assessment:

Tasks may include:

  • Camera Techniques and Digital Manipulation: Students create a folio of work that progresses through a number of individual tasks, developing an understanding of camera settings and compositional elements. In addition, post-production editing and creative manipulation of images allow students to develop their proficiency in using Adobe Photoshop and Light Room.
  • Communications Products: Students create communications products using the design process to investigate, plan, produce and evaluate their design focus. The products they create allow students to demonstrate knowledge and understanding acquired in the previous sequence of tasks.
