Content

Year 10 Historical Studies gives students the opportunity to extend their Humanities knowledge through learning topics with real-world and community relevance, allowing students who have an interest in History to pursue the subject further. Through the teaching of skills such as critical thinking and ethical and analytical reasoning, students gain an advantage across all subject areas, particularly the Humanities.

Topics may include:

  • Ancient Egypt
  • Ancient Greece
  • The Golden Age of Piracy

Assessment

Tasks may include:

  • Ancient Folio: Students create a shared information platform that will present an overview of Ancient Egyptian life
  • Historical Report: Students develop a historical report to support their views on which Ancient Greek city contributed the most towards Greece's position as a global superpower
  • Atlas Task: Students research 'The Golden Age of Piracy' and collate a variety of images, maps and graphs to develop an atlas
