ContentStudents develop communication skills through reading, writing, listening and speaking. They will understand and interpret information, ideas and perspectives in texts from social, cultural, community, workplace and/or imagined contexts, and will respond to how the structure and language of texts vary for different audiences, purposes and contexts. When creating texts, students will consider purpose, context and audience, and apply their knowledge and understanding of accurate spelling, punctuation, syntax and conventions. This subject has been designed for students who have a vocational pathway and aims to develop the literacy skills required in the workplace. Topics may include:

Additional InformationStudents must achieve a C grade in 20-credits of English subjects in order to meet the Literacy requirement of the SACE. Students will be enrolled in English Literary Studies, English, Essential English, or Vocational English based on teacher recommendations and parent approval. Teacher recommendations are based on previous achievements, PAT results, career pathway and teacher knowledge of the content. Negotiations can be made if a specific pathway is required for students. |
