Content

The study of Physics is constructed around using models, laws, and theories to better understand matter, forces, energy, and the interaction among them. Physics is based on evidence obtained from observations, measurements, and active experimentation.

Topics may include:

• The interaction between matter, energy, and forces in linear motion
• Electric circuits 
• The transfer and transformation of energy (heat)

Assessment

Skills and Application Tasks  40%

• Linear motion and force test
• Electricity and heat energy

Investigations Folio  30% 

• Practical investigation - 1000 words or equivalent multimodal
• Science as a Human Endeavour task - 1000 words or equivalent multimodal

Examination  30%

• 90 minute end of semester examination

Additional Information

Students must select Physics A and B if they wish to study Year 12 Physics.
