The Matt Baird Scholarship

The Matt Baird Scholarship is designed to assist a student in obtaining their full potential in personal development and academic achievement throughout their secondary schooling.  

Matt Baird was the Chaplain (Pastoral Support Worker) at Mount Barker High school from 1999 to 2013. He loved working at our school, and during that time, he strived to display the qualities listed below and instil these qualities in students with whom he came in contact.  

To be awarded this scholarship, the recipient would be expected to show the following attributes:

• Enthusiasm and commitment to their school life
  
  
• To persevere in all aspects of their schooling and not give up
  
  
• Uphold the values and ethos of the school community
  
  
• To be a role models to their fellow students and be inclusive of all
