Content

To develop knowledge, skills and understandings of mathematical techniques and analyse, interpret and communicate mathematical information.  

Topics may include:

  • Mathematical Induction
  • Complex Numbers
  • Functions and Sketching Graphs
  • Vectors in Three-Dimensions
  • Integrations Techniques and Applications
  • Rates of Change and Differential Equations

Assessment

Investigation Folio  20%

  • Integration Investigation - 15 pages 

Skills and Applications Tasks  50%

  • Six tests - one for each topic
  • One Skills and Applications Task must be undertaken without the use of either a calculator or notes

Examination  30%

  • Students undertake a 130-minute examination
  • The examination is based on the key questions and key concepts in the six topics

Additional Information

Students will require an approved SACE Graphics Calculator (recommended TI-84 Plus CE)

Year 12 Specialist Mathematics must be studied in conjunction with Year 12 Mathematical Methods.
