Content

Students develop their creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills. They refine their literacy, numeracy, ethical understanding and intercultural understanding, and develop self-belief and self-confidence.  

Students view and review performance throughout the Year 12 course. Students learn to engage meaningfully with others through the creation of a performance. Through focused collaborative practical learning opportunities, students refine their skills and increase their confidence as communicators by creating live, multimodal, oral and written products. 

Assessment

Group Performance  20% 

  • Students demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a dramatic innovator. Students take part in a group presentation, which is filmed as a live performance. They record evidence demonstrating their analysis, knowledge, understanding, and application skills.  

Folio 30%

  • Production Report: Students review and analyse their learning and involvement in the dramatic performance or presentation by evaluating the process and outcomes - 2000 words.
  • Review: Students review two live theatre or recorded live theatre productions - 1000 words each.

Interpretative Study  20%

  • Students investigate and respond to a question related to a dramatic performance - 1000 words.

Performance  30%

  • Students participate in a live group performance in an on-stage or off-stage role. Individual assessment as an on-stage performer or presentation about an offstage role - 15 minutes minimum stage time each.

Additional Information

Performance at public events is a requirement of this course.
